Vehicle Overview

The Buick Enclave is a three-row crossover that can seat up to eight, and fits above the Encore as the automaker’s largest vehicle.

Summary

The 2015 Buick Enclave is powered by a 3.6-liter V-6 that makes 288 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque, which can be paired with a six-speed automatic and front-wheel drive, or optional all-wheel drive. EPA-estimated fuel economy is 17/24 mpg city/highway with FWD, and 16/22 mpg with AWD.

On the 2015 Enclave, some notable interior features include the heated wood-trimmer steering wheel (standard on Leather and Premium models), 23.3 cubic feet of cargo space with the third-row seats up, a 6.5-inch infotainment screen, 10-speaker Bose sound system, side blind zone alert, rear cross traffic alert, forward collision alert, lane departure warning, and a front center airbag. The Enclave shares a platform with other GM SUVs including the the Chevrolet Traverse and GMC Acadia.

The 2015 Buick Enclave received a five-star overall safety rating from the NHTSA (out of a possible five stars), and in IIHS testing received four ratings of good (the highest possible rating is good).

What We Think

The 2015 Buick Enclave is a good looking alternative to the traditionally un-cool minivan for hauling your party of eight around. The prodigious size, at 4,922 pounds and 201.9 inches long, contributes to the Enclave’s uncompetitive fuel economy, but something that works in its favor when considering passenger space.

In a Driven review of a 2013 Buick Enclave one editor noted of the third row, “adults who measure six feet tall and under can sit back there, provided the sliding second-row captain’s chairs are not all the way back.” The popular Enclave is an incredibly quiet three-row SUV, but it’s missing some features we’ve come to expect in the segment, such as hands-free keyless ignition and adaptive cruise control.
