New For 2013
The 2013 Prius V is unchanged for this model year aside from a steering wheel with a padded rim that has been added to the luxury Prius V Five model.
Prius is a way of thinking, not just a car, so we shouldn’t be surprised that Toyota’s original hybrid has morphed into several different forms. The 2013 Toyota Prius V is the Prius that you want when more utility is called for, and what Prius owner doesn’t want a little more utility? What we have here is a Prius that has been stretched six inches in overall length, made wider by an inch, and then had the roof raised three inches. The result is not only more room for the things you carry (34.3 cubic feet of cargo capacity behind the second seat; 67.3 cubic-feet of cargo capacity with the second-row seat folded down) but also more room for you, too. The Toyota Prius V is really a wagon, like the similarly sized 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid or the slightly smaller Honda Fit. Naturally the Prius V’s 1.8-liter gas engine paired with an electric hybrid system gives you especially good mpg around town (44 mpg), and the combined output of 134 hp is sufficient to keep this 3274-lb package motivated on the street. Yet it’s important to note that the cabin of the 2013 Toyota Prius V always feels oppressively utilitarian, as if you had wandered into the generics aisle at the supermarket.
