2013 Honda Crosstour EXL

2013 Honda Crosstour Review

(0 Stars)  A little weird, a lot versatile.

New For 2013
The Crosstour is unchanged for 2013, but a refreshed model is on the way.
Overview
Honda’s Crosstour crossover might be a bit unloved—most crossover fans prefer the CR-V, and full-on wagon fans with enough scratch go for the Acura TSX sport wagon—but help is on the way in the form of the Crosstour Concept that signals a refreshed model coming soon. In the meantime, the Crosstour (formerly the Accord Crosstour) shares both of its namesake’s engines: a 2.4-liter in-line four-cylinder making 192 hp (front-wheel drive) and a 3.5-liter V-6 (FWD or all-wheel drive). As such, the Crosstour is like a high-riding Accord, with solid handling, reasonably good grunt, and decent fuel economy. Gas mileage is decent in in-line four-cylinder models and still fairly good in V-6 models, thanks to Variable Cylinder Management. The Crosstour’s unique styling—a sort of cross between a station wagon and an SUV—does create some ergonomic problems. Rear-seat headroom is sparse, and the cabin of the Crosstour is no more roomy than that of the Accord sedan, although there is a fairly significant amount of extra cargo capacity. The Crosstour strikes a good balance between design and versatility and represents a convenient option for car buyers torn between the mass of an SUV and the economy of a sedan.
