2011 GMC Acadia

2011 GMC Acadia Review

(3 Stars)  Big, but not too brutish

Reviewed by Automobile Magazine on

The crossover market has been exploding for the past few years and now the desire and market for full sized crossover vehicles is at its pinnacle. The GMC Acadia is General Motors reply to this new market and it can be equipped with front wheel or all wheel drive packages to meet the daily driver or the off road need of any consumer. This crossover surprisingly does not offer any options for the power train, but offers so many other options and configurations that this is one of the more versatile and feature rich crossovers out there.

The Acadia comes with one of GM's most popular engines, the acclaimed 3.6 Liter Direct Injection V-6. This motor has been used in many other GM models and offers plenty of power for this full sized crossover, pushing 288 horsepower and 270 foot pounds of torque, this motor is matched perfectly with a smooth 6 speed automatic transmission. The Acadia gets a respectable 24 MPG on the highway which is very competitive in its class. The new 2011 Acadia will be available with the Denali trim level which brings some more rugged power options to buyers.
