2011 Cadillac SRX

2011 Cadillac SRX Review

(4 Stars)  Looks great, needs fine-tuning

Reviewed by Automobile Magazine on

The SRX from Cadillac has been around since 2004 and they began with a bumpy start in the crossover market. The newest model has received a complete overhaul and is back and ready to compete. The new body and framework make this old crossover seem like a whole new vehicle. There are not many similarities to the older SRX models and this may be a good thing. There was not much to brag about on the older SRX models, but the new model has nothing to be ashamed of.

The standard SRX comes with a real wheel drive configuration, but is also available with All-Wheel-Drive. There is no longer a V-8 options for this Cadillac, there are 2 different V-6 engines available and each offers more than enough power for some drivers, but anybody who is used to a bigger V-8 will agree that these new motors do leave something to be desired. The turbocharged V-6 option can add some much needed torque for those power hungry drivers out there. The Cadillac will also be raising the base price on the SRX to $33,830 so if you are looking for some big savings when your downgrade from a full fledged SUV to a crossover mode, you may want to think again.
