2010 Volvo V70

2010 Volvo V70 Review

(3 Stars)  New R-Design edition enlivens model

Reviewed by Automobile Magazine on

2010 will be the third year that the V70 has been produced and this model still stands strong as Volvos flagship station wagon model. There are very few companies that still build a strong lineup of station wagons. However, as some companies drop the station wagon line altogether to be replaced with crossover models and smaller sports hatchbacks the Volvo company still brings many options to consumers in this form factor. The price of the new V70 is competitive with other big name station wagons like the ever popular Subaru Outback. Starting at only $34,000 this may be one of the most economical lines that Volvo offers today.

The V70 comes with a 3.2 inline six cylinder engine in the standard edition which produces 235 horsepower. This engine is well matched with the Volvo GearTronic 6 speed automatic transmission that gives a smooth drive and almost unnoticeable shifting. The V70 is most definitely developed to be a family vehicle and is even the first car to offer a built in child booster seat to make managing the whole family even easier.
