2010 Lexus SC430

2010 Lexus SC430 Review

(3 Stars)  Goodbye SC, hello IS C

Reviewed by Automobile Magazine on

Since its introduction in 1991, the SC model has been a staple of the Lexus brand. Offering a 2+2 coupe configuration, the SC has sold well for Lexus over the years. 10 years later, the second generation SC was released. Called the SC430, this model has continued the tradition for another 10 years. Now, at the SC's 20th anniversary, the road for this model has finally come to an end. It is considered redundant in Lexus' new model lineup and will be discontinued at the end of this year. The Lexus IS C will fill the SC's position in the lineup in the future.

While it remains available, the SC430 is still a viable option for mid level coupes. Its retractable hardtop is the most noticeable feature. Allowing you to go from coupe to convertible with the touch of a button. No slouch, either, as it's good for nearly 150mph on the top end. Its 288 horsepower 4.3 liter v-8 can push the coupe from 0 to 60mph in 5.8 seconds. Power is delivered to the wheels through a six speed transmission.
