The Jeep Grand Cherokee has been one of the most popular Jeep models for many years running. The Jeep Grand Cherokee was launched in 1990 and was one of the very first of all SUV models to hit the market. The Grand Cherokee has changed quite a bit from the first models. One of the most notable changes is the drastic body style changes. The initial Grand Cherokee body was very boxy and square, this rugged look has been altered many times through the years. The most recent body is not boxy at all and offers a very sleek style that makes it look much more modern.
The 2010 Grand Cherokee offers a choice of 2 different engines, the standard being the 5.7 liter V-8 that offers 357 horsepower and the other option is a 6.1 liter V-8 that brings a big 420 horsepower to the Grand Cherokee. Both engines are well equipped for a strong 4WD experience and are well matched with the included 5 speed automatic transmission. This Jeep offers a great ride on the road and is even more fun to drive off road.
Engines: 3.7L V-6, 5.7L V-8, 6.1L V-8
Transmissions: 5-speed automatic
Models: Laredo, Limited, SRT8
For 2010 the Overland trim level of the Jeep Grand Cherokee has been discontinued. Jeep has also done away with the 4.7-ltier V-8 as well as the 3.0-liter diesel V-6. The rest of the Grand Cherokee line sees minor changes to some of the features available in each trim level.
The 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee still has the rough and rugged looks of a Jeep, but the lines have definitely softened. While the SRT8 has a mean, aggressive street car look with dual exhaust pipes coming out of the center or the rear end.
The Cherokee definitely gets a higher quality interior compared to the rest of the Jeep line; equaling the Commander. Comfortable front seats but somewhat cramped rear seats all of which are covered in leather.
