Overview
This model is one of the most unique from Fords large line of trucks and SUVs. The Explorer Sports track takes out the extra cargo space in the back and then replaces it with a small truck bed. This very unique design brings a whole new concept to the trucking industry and enters the sports utility vehicle with a whole new way of thinking about what SUVs and crossovers can be.

The Ford Explorer Sports Trac is a equivalent to the F-150 SVT Lightning which this new design was originally intended for. As part of the redesign for the Explorer Sports Trac this vehicle also gained a V-8 engine that is an upgrade option for those looking for more power in their Sports Trac. The bed on this crossover/SUV mixture offers 4 foot of exterior storage and this is enough to make it more than usable. If you require a larger bed you will have to look at full size truck models, but the Explorer Sports Trac makes since for a lot of buyers who only need a small amount of bed and still want more interior seating.
