2010 Ford Edge

2010 Ford Edge Review

(3 Stars)  The heavyweight of midsize crossovers

Reviewed by Automobile Magazine on

Overview
There are many new crossover models hitting the road. The concept of bringing the best of what an SUV and a car offer together in a single vehicle has been well accepted by the public and these crossovers continue to grow in popularity and in feature sets. The Ford Edge has been around since 2006 and it has been through some redesigns and changes. Now the new 2010 model is ready to go and is powered up with the Ford Sync system that has been a popular offering in other Ford models. This crossover offers a 5 seat vehicle that sacrifices a third row of seating to offer a lot more leg room than most others in its class.

The Ford Edge offers all wheel drive to enhance the overall driving performance; this option may drop the mileage and also adds to an existing weight issue in the front end of this mode. This year's Edge has a completely new design and form factor inside and out. You will be able to take advantage of the one engine upgrade option offering a Turbocharged V-6 that does give this crossover some much needed extra power.
