All of the major car manufacturers have a single car that really sticks out and is what they are known for. When you are talking about Aston Martin, this car is the DBS. Without a doubt this is the vehicle that makes you instantly think of Aston Marten, whenever you see one on the street, in a movie or on the road. These amazing machines seem more like a work of art than a car.
The DBS shaves off 200 pounds from the DB9 models and with a whopping 510 Horsepower these cars are made to put you back in your seat. The 6.0 Liter V-12 engine in these Austin Martins produce enough force to propel the driver from 0 to 60 in just over 4 seconds and the can come back to a complete stop in a short 107 skid. The Austin Martin DBS is meant for serious drivers and is as close to a race car as many people will ever get to experience. There are many more high end features you would expect on a car of this caliber including a high performance stereo, carbon fiber modeling and of course a convertible top if you like.
Engines: 6.0L V-12
Transmissions: 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic
Models: Coupe, Volante, UB-2010 Edition, Carbon Black
The Volante convertible is the newest DBS model to be added to the mix, featuring the same specifications as the standard Coupe.
Body panels aerodynamically perfected in the wind tunnel still look good as they cover the DBS' underpinnings. A good thing, as we've never seen an ugly Aston.
The cabin is awash in a delightful combination of aluminum and hand-stitched leather. Even the red-glowing DBS key slot is a thing of beauty, as is the steel-and-sapphire "Emotion Control Unit" (the key) that glides into it.
Performance & Handling
The DBS achieves its performance without much compromise from the driver. The suspension is firm but not harsh, carbon-ceramic brakes haul the DBS down from speed time and time again, and the V-12's growl is, well, intoxicating. Of course, James Bond wouldn't have it any other way.
The 2010 Volante includes dual-stage driver and side airbags as standard equipment, as are stability and traction control. Automatically deployed roll-over bars are standard on the Volante model in the event the convertible winds up on its head.
